According to the Ministry of Health, the Unified Health System is one the biggest and more complex public health systems in the world. It includes from simple appointments to evaluate blood pressure, through Primary Health Attention, to organ transplantation, and guarantees comprehensive, universal and free of charge access to the whole Brazilian population. In the Zika response, some actions were of utmost importance: surveillance, health care, research and production of diagnosis tests, training, rehabilitation, communication and information.
